Preston photo shoot & taco soup!

Helloooo!

It's been so long since I've posted (at least I feel that way). We've just been so bizzy.
Well I just want to congratulate myself publicly because someone, for the first time ever, ok, second time ever (Erin was the first I think) asked me for a recipe!

I feel so good when people ask me (especially other women) for my recipes. I feel so validated as a chef. Preston has always been better than me at cooking and I think I am finally catching up and fulfilling my womanly calling to cook!

So here is the Taco Soup recipe that we've made like 4 times now. It's that good!

Ok. I did steal it from Paula Dean. But I did make some changes. Like I cook the meat beforehand and then mix all the ingredients together in a pot and let it simmer on low for like 15 minutes. MUCH faster. Also it's really good with pulled pork cooked in the crock pot beforehand (that alone does take like 6 hours though).

Anyways. I also wanted to solicit Preston's modeling career. He's a natural. I used these for one of my photography projects.

Here is displayed the lovely Wymount scenery (ignore the dumpster please).
    Look at that face!

Today Preston and I also went to the BYU Career Fair. It was actually fun even though I was scared out of my mind beforehand... Preston had to sign me up for it cuz I wouldn't. Not many of the companies were up my alley, but I did get some contacts to apply for! And a Frisbee. YAY! And Preston impressed many with his resume. The lady from Vanguard was like, "Wow, impressive resume. And you went to Korea?! You speak Korean?! That's so cool." Haha.

Annyeong! (Korean for bye... and hello.)

Soccer and Photography

Preston has joined an intramural soccer team! He just had his first game on Tuesday night and he did so good! He played defense and made some nice passes. He was so excited to play that he kicked the ball over the huge fence and had to climb over it to retrieve the ball. Then the other players followed his example and the fence was climbed MANY times. It was funny to watch.

Don't ask me or Preston what the score was... no one seemed to be keeping track anyways because the game started off forfeited with the other team (the Aloha Bros) not showing up. But it was fun to watch anyways!

I took these pictures on the DSLR camera I am borrowing from my old room mate.
Here are some pictures I have taken with this cool camera:

I took only a few pictures of the game before my camera died.

A rainbow appeared after a storm. These were taken right outside our apartment.

 DOUBLE RAINBOW!
I took these yesterday right before sunset:

Until next time!

Hey e'rebody!

Welcome to my blog!

I hope that this blog can be a way for family/friends to just see what we are up to so we feel like we are with each other when we can't always be! I should be writing at least once a week to update.

Preston and I have been married 3 and a half months... almost 4 months coming up on the 17th. To me, that seems like a loooong time. A lot has happened since we got married.

1. We got our very first apartment in Wymount! It's not really the baby factory that you hear about. We actually really like our ward and apartment... aside from the cinder block walls.

Our address is:
328 Wymount Terrace
Provo, UT 84604

Send us stuff! hehe

2. Preston and I worked all Summer. Whoopiedoo! I continue to work at Creative Services as a graphic designer. My man has two jobs! He primarily works as an accountant on-campus and also works as a camera operator for BYU Broadcasting.

3. Preston made it into both the accounting and finance programs during the summer (he's pretty much a smarty pants), but decided that Finance is more his thing. So he has just started the junior core for Finance and has 2 more lovely years of that! ;)

4. We traveled to Kentucky for Denise's wedding and it was a great time! The drive was SO long, but it was totally worth it to be there with Denise and Connor on their special day. We also got to go on a Mammoth Cave tour, eat breakfast and watch horses train at Keenland, pet goats and see cute animals at Boyd Orchards (it was "too early" to pick apples even though they were all falling off the tree!), visited the University of Kentucky arboretum, went on our traditional Moe's outing, and watched the infamous "Man of Steel." Sorry mom, I didn't really enjoy Superman's face as much as you did.

5.Preston's dad and brother Josh came into town last weekend and we all went camping in the Uentas. I'm not a huge camper, but I really did enjoy being up in the mountains and the beautiful scenery. It was fun trying to fish and sitting around a camp fire with the fam.

6.We have just completed our first week of classes! It's my LAST semester at BYU guys. I can't believe it, but at the same time, I'm a little relieved. Right now I am taking my capstone class and a photography class. Both I am really excited about. I will have to post some of my photos from my class as it goes along.

Btw... BYU destroyed TU last night! Just in case you didn't know. It was pretty exciting. Go Cougars!
